Becky Hillyard on…
Her interior decor…
‘I would call my style French-modern. I definitely lean towards more contemporary design references however I love the effortlessness of Parisian decor with lots of light-filled spaces, minimalistic shapes and polished style.’
Inspiration...
‘Right before building I would look in magazines like Architectural Digest, my collection of coffee table books and spend hours pinning away on Pinterest. My love for understated fashion and neutrals definitely influences my home decor choices too.’
Favourite Spaces...
‘The kitchen is hands down my favourite space in our new home - and the pantry too. It’s where I spend so much time and so when designing the rooms, I really took my time, not only carefully considering how each space would look, but how it would work and flow for our everyday needs too.’
Interior Insights: The Kitchen

Undeniably chic, Becky’s kitchen decor signals a new way to do neutrals. Opting for eye-catching deeply veined marble for the backsplash, worktops and island, the natural tones not only make a statement but also work to set the colour palette for the rest of the room.
From the hidden spice rack behind those show-stopping marble panels to elegantly styled cabinet shelves, every element of Becky’s kitchen is aesthetically pleasing whilst presenting exquisite functionality for family life.

Adding a unique decorative element that also allows for the display of glass or dinnerware pieces, Becky opted for a Regency Diamond Grille in an unlacquered brass finish to complement her cabinets.
‘From the very beginning of our home design process, I knew I wanted some beautiful exposed cabinetry. A lot of the kitchen inspiration I was drawn to on Pinterest featured this style with metal grilles on the front.’ says Becky.

Highlighting the golden veins of the marble, contemporary brass hardware enhances the warmth of the space and adds an extra level of luxe in the kitchen. Becky pairs pull handles for the drawers with round cabinet knobs and backplates for the cupboards - a look that works seamlessly in an open plan kitchen.
Interior Insights: The Pantry
Designed by McCroskey Interiors, Becky shares, ‘A butler’s pantry was high on my list of must-haves when designing the floor plan for our dream home. The desire to have a well-organised station perfect for our needs was something I really wanted to incorporate.’

We love how Becky’s pantry proves that opting for a mix of hardware styles can work beautifully. By choosing the same finish for each piece, it brings uniformity to the varied shapes and textures and the classic burnished brass tones add a timeless feel.

In the mudroom, statement printed wallpaper beautifully frames dramatic black cabinetry. Becky opted once more for a mix of hardware styles to finish off her storage, tying the look together neatly with a burnished brass finish that also works to create contrast against the dark painted wood.
