Founded in 1929 by local brassfounder Harold McGrail, Armac was predominantly a manufacturer of reproduction furniture fittings. Harold stayed at the helm of the Armac Group until his retirement in 1988 aged 83 successfully leading the business through the most difficult of periods in WW2.
Following Harold's retirement, his son Bryan led the company through until his own retirement in 1996. He set about opening up export markets and travelled to all corners of the world and to this day we still export to many of these distributors.
Since his own retirement the position of Managing Director has been shared jointly by two of Bryan's sons Paul and Mark, who still run our private family owned business to the present day. The two brothers have markedly changed the business through a continued programme of investment in all aspects and areas of our business.
Armac re-branded in 2012 and Armac Martin was born. With a reputation built on both our heritage that has seen skills passed down from generation to generation and incorporating modern day manufacturing techniques to ensure that quality is never compromised, Armac Martin has become a leading name in luxury cabinet hardware fittings.
As a family owned and run business we are committed to manufacturing in the UK with all of our products still made from solid brass, in our recently extended Birmingham factory.
Operating out of our Dollman Street Birmingham site, we have an in-house design team that are committed to creating beautiful, luxury cabinet hardware collections. From the initial design process, to hand-finishing our collections, here at Armac Martin we are able to oversee all phases of production. Our long-standing team ensure that our customers' needs and requirements are met time and time again.
Our collections and designs are found in some of the world's finest kitchens and interiors. We truly believe it is the smallest details that make the difference.
With our 90-year anniversary in sight and a passion to continue to design and create luxury cabinet hardware, we have a bright future ahead.
Today, Armac Martin's team are committed to continued investment and developing our brand further. There is a fourth generation in joint Managing Director Paul McGrail's two sons Richard and Robert, forming part of the current management team continuing to drive the company forwards.
